Joey Droste

Director

Joey, along with help from Family and Friends, started the Foundation in Memory of his daughter Maggie, whom passed away 3 hours after birth from Trisomy 18. He is a locomotive engineer for a railroad here in Iowa. His wife Shelby owns and operates a Dance Studio, Performance Dance Centre, in Ames. He enjoys riding his motorcycle, listening to Music, playing video games with his boys and also watching Movies with the whole family. He has 5 children, Spencer, Roman, Dominic, Maggie & Kinley. His passion for helping others is what drives him in the Foundation.

Denise Robinson

Senior Financial Officer

Denise enjoys spending time with her family and attending her grandchildren’s sports and dance activities. She has two married Son’s and 7 Grandchildren. She enjoys being outdoors, cooking and listening to music.

Sara Sharp

Executive President

Sara joined the team in 2013 and has given the term volunteer a whole new meaning. Not only does she work full time and have a family, she works tirelessly for the Foundation making it to almost every event we hold. Sara is also in charge of the Gala. She enjoys spending time with her Husband Eric and her two boys Wyatt & Wesley. She also enjoys riding her motorycle with her family as well.

Eric Sharp

Officer

Eric joined the team in an Officer compacity several years ago but has been volunteering his time to the Foundation since 2013. In his spare time Eric enjoys shooting at the gun range and outdoor activities with his boys, riding motorcycles with his whole family and helping out at all of our events. Eric is also our go to guys on our annual gun raffles.

Todd Green

Officer

Todd has been a part of the Sleeping Angels since day 1. He has a passion for helping others doing whatever needs done when it comes to the Foundtion. He loves playing jokes and riding with the group. You can usually find him at our events in his comfy chair making sure everyone is doing what they are supposed to be doing!

Correy Kewatt

Officer

Correy “Boss Man” Kewatt has been involved in the Foundation long before he was an Officer. One of our favorite places to plan things was Old Chicago in Ames. Correy is the General Manger there and got to know some of us very well. As soon as Correy found out what we do he was all in. He started out as a sponsor and his love for helping others, Harleys, Pizza and beer he was a great fit for our organization.

Joe McGlynn

Officer

Joe has been helping out with the Foundation events for many years. For Joe it’s all about helping others. Since joining the team I have relied on Joe for many things. For the last two years he has been my right hand on the Fun Run. While not doing Foundation events he enjoys spending time with his Wife and Son, riding his motorcycle, smoking meats and driving his big rig truck.

Stacey McGlynn

Executive Secretary

Stacey wanted to be a part of something that makes a difference in the community. While joining her husband, Joe, at Sleeping Angels events over the years, Stacey became more involved herself and now helps out at all of our events. She Enjoys riding with Joe, ISU Basketball & Football, spending time with their family and son.

Ed Maxwell

Officer

Ed has been helping the Foundation for many years. He joined the Foundation to help others in their time of need. Ed chose his late wife Andrea to be an Officer over himself, when we first had an opening and he now fills her spot. He enjoys riding motorcycles, attending his children’s events and rooting on Iowa State in all the collage sports!

Derek Driggers

Officer

Derek “D” has been helping out at the Fun Run for many years and recently joined the Officer ranks of the Foundation. You may have seen him out trying to wrangle all the bikes in the parking lot into somewhat of an organized mess, LOL! Derek couldn’t imagine what it’s like to lose a child. He joined the foundation so he can offer someone who has, any comfort in their time of need.

Ryan Hoyme

Officer

Ryan has been involved with the Fun Run for many years and made the jump to the Foundation Officer ranks. You may recognize him from the intersections we go thru or the gate when you get to the Fairgrounds. He may look big and mean but Ryan is always willing to jump in and help get the job done and help anyone who needs it. He enjoys riding motorcycles with his wife and friends, spending time with his family and he even likes working on Motorcycles!

Grant Creger

Officer

Grant has been an Officer for many years now. His spirt sets him apart from most people you meet. He’s always willing to help anyone in any situation. If you’ve met him you will never forget him. When I first met him it was like we had been friends for 30 years. He enjoys Harleys and Jeeps, spending time with his family and taking care of his Cattle.

Kristine Williams

Officer

Kristine has been volunteering since coming on her first Fun Run back in 2014. She just joined the Officer Ranks and is on the Assistance Committee, which takes care of the requests we get. She enjoys Listening to live music, riding motorcycles, taking Jeep rides and hanging out with friends and family. She is also in charge of keeping track of Grant, which is a full time job in itself!!

Kelsey Williams

Officer

Kelsey’s passion for helping people brought her to the Foundation. She started the nursing program right out of high school and is now an RN. Kelsey worked as a labor and delivery nurse and watched the heartbreak families go through and wanted to help take some of the burden off the families in anyway she could. In her small amount of free time she has she enjoys anything outdoors, crafting and trying to keep up with her 2 English Bulldogs.

Allen York

Officer

Allen “Gator” York started out coming on the Fun Run and attending the annual Golf Tournament. He is now an Officer and he and his Wife Gretchen run the Golf Tournament. His dedication to the cause is what makes him a great Officer. He genuinely likes to help people. Way back when, he and Gretchen paid for a headstone for an infant by themselves when we were short the money. In his small amount of spare time Allen loves riding Motorcycles, Golfing and spending time with Family and Friends.

Gretchen York

Officer

Gretchen York started out coming on the Fun Run and attending the annual Golf Tournament with her Husband and Officer Allen. Gretchen has helped us out so much when we were just getting going and continues to do so each and every year. She loves riding motorcycles, golfing and making all sorts of craft items. If you can imagine it she can make it!
