A Journey We Never Could Have Imagined

When we first started the Sleeping Angels Foundation, we truly had no idea how far this journey would take us. What began as a way to honor, remember, and support has grown into something far bigger than we ever expected, something deeply meaningful, not just to us, but to so many others. Along the way, we’ve met incredible people, families, friends, and supporters, each with their own story. We’ve also experienced loss together. Those moments have shaped us, bonded us, and reminded us why we do what we do. Through this journey, we’ve learned more than we ever thought possible about infant loss, funerals, and headstones. These aren’t easy things to face, but they are realities for so many families. Being able to support others through those difficult times has become one of the most important parts of our mission.

Over the years, we’ve all grown and changed in our personal lives as well. Our children, who have been part of this journey in their own ways, are becoming the next generation of riders and supporters. Watching them step into that role gives us hope for the future and reminds us that what we’re building will continue on.

We also couldn’t reflect on this journey without recognizing the countless bars and restaurants that have welcomed us, supported us, and helped us grow. Your generosity and partnership have played a huge role in getting us where we are today. To our sponsors and volunteers, past and present, thank you will never be enough. Your time, effort, and dedication are the backbone of everything we do. None of this would be possible without you. And to every person we’ve met along the way who has shared their story with us, thank you for trusting us with something so personal. Your stories are the reason we keep going, and they continue to inspire everything we do.

At the end of the day, this foundation isn’t just about us, it’s about all of you. Every donation, every ride, every conversation, every act of support makes a difference. We truly can’t do what we do without each and every one of you. We are beyond grateful for how far we’ve come, and we’re even more excited for what’s ahead.

We can’t wait to see you all on May 2nd at the Boone County Fairgrounds for our 15th Annual Ride. Let’s continue this journey together

Joey D.
